The camera can work fine for years, and then all of a sudden the sensor can start showing signs of this fault. I have a TZ3 myself that has developed this problem, and for me that was the case. Shame really because they are really good cameras. Although, I do prefer the TZ1 [#leica] than the TZ3. Never had sensor problems with the TZ1 either.
