Shooting The Moon - Nikon P1000

Here's some quick example footage of the Nikon P1000 filming the Moon. A lot of people ask the question: Can the Nikon P900 [More info on that model] and P1000 actually get close-up footage of the Moon. Yes they can. The Moon is fascinating and quite mysterious, so it can be a lot of fun filming it because you never know what you might spot. I have seen footage of the Moon from someone on YouTube where they spotted UFOs (not sure if they were alien or space rock in origin) flying past the Moon.

 

Anyway, the Moonlapse footage shows various zoom levels, including 3000mm, 6000mm and 12000mm (digital zoom). The P1000 is an amazing camera, good for long range work and fairly decent for astrophotography. The zoom is incredible. Starting From ₹ 64,999 (666.50 Pound sterling)(881.48 United States Dollar). But this camera can be picked up cheaper now, either in used condition or in the sales (xmas deals, Black Friday, Cyber Monday etc).
