First impressions. Those two words seems quite funny considering how old this camera now is. But I have recently purchased an S2, so they are relevant. This is certainly not an in-depth review on the Canon Powershot S2 IS, but more of a quick review / first impressions of what I like and dislike about this camera. A 16MB SD Memory Card

Yes, you read correct. A 16MB SD card. These days 16MB is tiny. It's crazy to think there was a time when it was the latest thing, and biggest capacity available. Although I don't think it remained that way for very long. I think these SD cards were supplied for free with cameras that came with no internal memory. I received one of these cards with a Canon PowerShot S2 IS bridge camera I recently bought. The camera wouldn't work, or a least couldn't take a picture until the 16MB memory card was inserted. A genuine Canon SDC card So I presume this is one of the earlier digital camera models that came with no internal memory and had to be supplied with an SD card to get the user started. Micro SD Card Locked No Switch

I talked about how to fix the "memory card locked" error in another post , but what happens if you have a Micro SD card that is locked and has no switch. If you have a micro SD card that shows as locked, the fix is to borrow or buy an SD card adapter. Slot the Micro SD card into the adapter and flick the switch up for unlock. Then, take the Micro SD card out of the adapter and place it in whatever device you were trying to use it in when it gave the "locked" message. It should now be unlocked. Buy an Adapter from: Amazon UK | Amazon USA | Amazon Canada If it isn't unlocked, do the same procedure again but this time put the adapter with the Micro SD card inside into a compatible device and turn it on. It should now show no locked message. Then, take the Micro SD card out of the adapter and you're good to go. Honor 10 Lite HRY-LX1 Impact Mode

Impact mode test in black and white with the Honor 10 Lite HRY-LX1 smartphone. Very over-exposed, but I think that's what its meant to be like in this mode. From a quick testing the phone is quite nice to take pictures with. And its widely known for being reliable. Which is more than can be said about the Sony Experia Z3 Compact. Old Berkswell Village Water Pump

This is the old water pump located in Berkswell, UK. It was used by people who lived in the village to manually draw / pump water before it was more conveniently supplied direct into homes via pipes. Now the pump stands as a piece of Berkswell history. We don't know how easy we have things these days! #westmidlands

Robin's Pincushion Picture

Noticed this very strange reddish strand-like thing on a Rose bush while walking along. Never seen anything like it before. I've come to find out that it is commonly called Robin's Pincushion, and its a common gall that develops on some wild rose bushes when one or more of the rose's buds get injected by a small gall wasp. Picture was taken with a Canon S2 IS . Above: And here's Robin's Pincushion, on a different bush, at the end of its life. It's purpose served.
