Great lens, very capable for lots of shooting situations and subjects, including, of course, portrait photography. Lots of talk and reviews about the Samyang AF 85mm f/1.4 FE (USA, Canada and UK) (called the Rokinon AF 85mm f/1.4 in America) being one of the best budget lenses. It has excellent auto focus (very quick when snapping images) and impressive protection from the elements, making it a good choice for out in the field. However, while the build quality is excellent, the weight, @ well over half a Kilo (600 grams) makes it quite a hefty bit of kit.
Although, worth mentioning is the fact that the Samyang AF 85mm f/1.4 FE does not have any stabilization built into the lens, but the large majority of up-to-date Sony DSLR's have stabilisation built into the body as standard. Anyway, check out the very informative review video by Christopher Frost Photography. He shows some sample images / examples and comparisons in various modes of what this lens is capable of when mounted on both a Sony A5100 and A7R II cameras.

Furthermore, Samyang lenses have gained popularity among photographers due to their exceptional optical performance and image quality. I own several, you can't go far wrong.
